Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh is 93 km south-west of Hanoi. It is known as the former capital of Vietnam during the Dinh Dynasty (968-80) and early Le Dynasty (980-1009). The ancient citadel of Hoa Lu, most of which has been destroyed, covered an area of about 3 sq km. The temple, Dinh Tien Hoang, was restored in the 17th century and is dedicated to the Dinh dynasty. Beside the historical relics, Ninh Binh has many interesting and nice attractions to offer tourists such as Tam Coc Bich Dong, Trang An, Hang Mua, Van Long, Cuc Phuong national park. Although travelers can do a day trip to this area, some others choose to overnight in Ninh Binh or the national park to appreciate the scenery at a more leisurely place.
