Ha Giang

Ha Giang is located in the Northeast of Vietnam. It shares 270 km long border with Yunnan province of southern China, and thus it is known as Vietnam's final frontier. its provincial capital called Ha Giang is connected by the Highway 2 and 320km away from Hanoi city. Ha Giang has an amazing landscape of limestone pinnacles, granite outcrops and springs. The major river in this region is Lo river. Ha Giang has many attractions. Quan Ba valley or it has another name as Heave Gate. Uniformly shaped hills of the valley are viewed from the summit. Quan Ba pass provides views of Thach Nui Doi. The town of Dong Van is famous for its Pho Bang street which features multistoried building built with clay bricks and tiled roofs. The weekly market is where the Tay and The Hmong ethnic groups of the province visit in large numbers to trade goods and colorful hand woven cloth. The trip between Yen Minh and Dong Van, then across Ma Pi Leng pass to Meo Vac, is quite mind blowing. Meo Vac is a mountainous pass which forms the boundary of the Nho Que river on the border with China. The market held at Khau Vai, is where once a year on the 27th March of Lunar calendar, is known famously as the Khau Vai "Love Market". Lung Cam cultural village lies in the narrow picturesque Sung La valley. The highlight is century old traditional Hmong house. The adobe structure, surrounding a stone paved courtyard, was, in the former life, an opium emporium, and more recently featured in Vietnamese films.
